It had good reviews on Amazon, but not nearly as many good reviews as the <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/1UfIXFL\">$20 version<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>After seeing great results from the <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/1UfIXFL\">$20 mic<\/a>, I decided to go ahead and shell out the <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/1WWLn03\">$11 version<\/a> as well.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/chrissniderdesign.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/iphone-lav-microphone-580x302.jpg\" alt=\"iphone-lav-microphone\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-3828\" width=\"100%\" srcset=\"https:\/\/chrissniderdesign.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/iphone-lav-microphone-580x302.jpg 580w, https:\/\/chrissniderdesign.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/iphone-lav-microphone-300x156.jpg 300w, https:\/\/chrissniderdesign.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/iphone-lav-microphone-768x401.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the video of me putting the $11 CalMyotis lavalier lapel microphone to the test:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CSq_OiqwkB0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The sound is loud. It may be too loud. I recommend using an app such as FilMicPro to turn down the levels when recording. Otherwise you&#8217;ll need to tone it down a bit in editing.<\/p>\n<p>The cord also isn&#8217;t very long on the $11 mic. It&#8217;s only 59 inches compared to 76 on the $20 mic (they mics look and sound identical, actually, so the only difference appears to be the cord length). So you&#8217;re going to have a hard time tucking it under a shirt to hide it from view.
